After 10+ years of working in consulting, I took on a new challenge in a corporate environment, developing accessories for one of the leaders in the smartphone industry, HTC. This experience has helped me balance my highly creative consulting background with a practical and highly detail-oriented knowledge of product execution. This experience has allowed me to take ideas from concept sketches, materials and finishes specifications, and tooling of production parts. Throughout this process, collaboration with product planning, engineering, sales, and marketing is maintained to ensure that the product meets all the requirements to be a successful and profitable product.

As a Design Manager, my role was to lead and inspire multiple creative teams while simultaneously directing all aspects of the creative process, including new business development, client communications, project proposals, design direction and definition, trend and market research, concept exploration, concept selection, detail refinement, and final product development.
Huawei - The goal throughout the process has been to help this sleeping giant transition from an OEM product manufacturing supplier to a visionary, brand-building product manufacturer. A Chinese manufacturer poised to become a highly recognized electronics brand in North America has been a unique experience in providing insight into consumer culture and trends through superior product design.
Dell. Collaborated with Dell's in-house design and engineering teams to rapidly develop the Dell Latitude 2100, a low-cost, durable laptop with design details specifically for the educational market. From an initial concept sketch to a finished product in less than 8 months, this project was the epitome of grace under fire.
Sifteo - Produced an appropriate look and feel for the Sifteo Cubes, a transformative product that is redefining the future of play.
Logitech - Pure-fi Express. From sketch to assisting with ME in China, Acoustic and EE at Logitech, the design was complete and thorough. The result: a high quality look and feel at a low price point.
Betterplace - Involved in the development of 2 generations of product evolution over the course of 4 years, there was intense collaboration with teams in Palo Alto, Israel and Europe to develop solutions for all aspects of electric vehicle charging. The global deployment of an EV charging system is daunting. Beyond developing a strong brand look and feel for the charge stations, a working relationship with various global teams to address ongoing implementation issues including local and national government regulations, site-specific installation issues, and much more.

Dell - Dell studio hybrid. a 3-year program that resulted in one of the most iconic and acclaimed consumer products ever produced by the company, the Studio Hybrid. Explored countless component configuration studies, feature sets, use case scenarios, user profiles, materials and fine detail development.
Sling media - Sling Box Pro, a fast paced program that established the visual product language for Slingmedia's product roadmap for the following 8 products, released over the span of 4 years. Successfully delivered a category-defining products that helped establish Slingmedia's place-shifting technology.
Gameready - Developed the next generation of their product line, the GR2. Conducted thorough configuration and ergonomic studies to greatly improve upon the first generation product. The result: a product that was easier to use, more cost effective and with an updated look.
Jr. Industrial Designer | 2001—2005
Joined NewDeal Design as employee #4 and contributed to the growth and development of the business - from a small upstart studio, into a world-class design firm. Solely responsible for all CAD production for the NDD team, and quickly developed a mastery of 3D surfacing (Alias), technical problem solving, and bringing design concepts to reality without compromise.
Palm Zire was one of my first experiences working on a high profile, very successful product. I played a critical technical role, interfacing with ME and EE to optimize PCB layout, part breakup, CMF specifications, surfacing and part design. The Palm Zire was the first PDA to retail for under $100 and was one of the best and longest selling products ever produced by Palm.
